Publication Ethics

Al-Furat Journal of Innovations in Agricultural Sciences (FJIAS) is committed to upholding the highest standards of research integrity, publication ethics, and professional conduct. The journal welcomes high-quality original research articles, review papers, and short communications in all fields of agricultural sciences, both basic and applied.

To ensure ethical and responsible scientific publishing, the journal adheres to the international guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Authors, reviewers, and editors are expected to comply with the ethical principles outlined below.

  1. Research Integrity and Originality
  • All submitted manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration by any other journal.
  • Any form of plagiarism, including self-plagiarism, paraphrasing without attribution, or duplication of previously published work, is strictly prohibited.
  • Manuscripts suspected of plagiarism will be rejected immediately and may be permanently barred from future submission.
  1. Authors’ Responsibilities
  • Authors must ensure the accuracy of data, methods, results, and citations presented in their manuscripts.
  • All listed authors must have made a significant scientific contribution and approved the final version of the manuscript.
  • Authors must disclose any financial or personal conflicts of interest that may affect the work.
  • When required, authors must obtain ethical approval for studies involving human participants, animals, or sensitive environmental data.
  • Authors are responsible for securing permissions to reproduce copyrighted tables, figures, or data.
  1. Peer Review Responsibilities

FJIAS follows a double-blind peer review process.

Reviewers must:

  • Evaluate manuscripts objectively and professionally based solely on scientific merit.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and not use or share unpublished material.
  • Declare any conflicts of interest that may influence their judgment.
  • Provide constructive feedback within the stipulated time frame.
  1. Editorial Responsibilities
  • Editors evaluate manuscripts impartially, based on scientific quality and relevance, without discrimination.
  • The editorial board oversees the peer review process and ensures that ethical guidelines are followed.
  • Editors must maintain confidentiality and avoid using unpublished materials for personal benefit.
  • In cases of ethical misconduct (plagiarism, fabricated data, unethical research), editors will take appropriate action, which may include rejection, retraction, or notifying the author’s institution.
  1. Publication Decisions

The final decision to accept or reject a manuscript rests with the Editor-in-Chief, based on:

  • Originality
  • Scientific quality
  • Reviewers’ recommendations
  • Relevance to the journal’s scope

The journal aims to provide timely decisions, and reviewer feedback is generally returned to authors within two weeks.

  1. Privacy and Data Protection

Personal information collected during submission and review is used solely for editorial purposes and will not be shared with unauthorized parties.

  1. Disclaimer

The journal is not responsible for statements, opinions, or data presented in published articles; these remain solely the responsibility of the authors.
