Fair Open Access Principles

FJIAS adheres to the principles of Fair Open Access, ensuring transparency, equity, and ethical scholarly publishing.

  • All published content is available in full open access.

  • Authors retain copyright of their work.

  • Articles are published under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) licence.

  • Article Processing Charges (APCs) are clearly stated and applied only after manuscript acceptance.

  • No APCs are charged to authors affiliated with institutions outside Iraq.

  • Editorial decisions are made independently of any publication fees.

  • No submission, access, or download fees are imposed.

These principles align with best practices promoted by DOAJ, OpenAIRE, and the global Fair Open Access initiative.

Copyright and Licensing

Authors retain copyright of their published work. All articles are published under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) licence, which permits unrestricted use, distribution, adaptation, and reproduction in any medium, provided the original work is properly cited.

Article Processing Charges (APC Policy)

FJIAS does not charge submission fees.

For manuscripts submitted by authors affiliated with Iraqi institutions, an article processing charge of 70,000 Iraqi Dinars is applied only after final acceptance.

No APCs are required for authors affiliated with institutions outside Iraq.

Quality Assurance

FJIAS maintains a strict quality assurance framework to uphold academic integrity and publication standards. All manuscripts undergo editorial screening, plagiarism checking, and a double-blind peer-review process conducted by independent experts.

Publication Ethics

FJIAS is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics. The journal follows internationally recognized ethical guidelines and does not tolerate plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, or unethical research practices.

Conflicts of Interest

Authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest that could influence the publication process. Where no conflict exists, a formal declaration must be provided.

Archiving & Digital Preservation Policy

FJIAS ensures the long-term digital preservation and permanent accessibility of all its published content through the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN), which utilizes the LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) system for decentralized archiving. In addition, published articles are deposited and backed up via OJS automated digital archiving protocols and Crossref DOI metadata services.

Repository & Self-Archiving Policy

FJIAS permits and encourages authors to deposit all versions of their articles (Submitted version/Preprint, Accepted version/Author Accepted Manuscript, and Published version/Publisher PDF) in institutional repositories, subject-based repositories (such as ResearchGate or Academia.edu), or personal websites without any embargo period. Full bibliographic details and a link to the original publication via its Crossref DOI must be provided upon self-archiving.

Advertising Policy

Al-Furat Journal of Innovations in Agricultural Sciences (FJIAS) does not accept commercial advertising or promotional content in any form.

The journal does not display banners, sponsored links, paid advertisements, or advertorials on its website, in its issues, or in any associated digital platforms.

All editorial decisions, content selection, and publishing processes are conducted independently and are not influenced by any form of advertising revenue.

This policy ensures that the journal maintains editorial integrity and a reader-focused open-access environment without commercial influence.
